A Lifelong Passion for Photography
I was born in the Netherlands and became fascinated with photography at the age of 8. I built my first homemade camera from an old matchbox. At 16, I acquired a real Dalmeyer, a top-view camera, which I later used to build a projector for developing my photos.
After graduating from the Netherlands' primary technical university in Hilversum, I began working for Phillips Medical Systems as an X-ray technician, which eventually led to the development of artistic X-ray photographs, such as the image on this page.
I've been collecting cameras my whole life. I now own some of the very first cameras ever made, many technological and scientific cameras that revolutionized the field, and many modern cameras that I still use today. I also specialized in black and white film photography and have taken thousands of photos over the years.

Tulipa Two is one of my most popular pieces from the Jewels of Nature hand-tinted X-Rayography collection. The color is applied with linseed-oil based paint for permanence and to allow the X-ray image to show through.
